What is the purpose of the College Admission Fair?

The MN Campus Alliance is proud to host the first-ever Campus Pride College Admission Fair in the Midwest! Free and open to the public, this fair allows students and their families the opportunity to interact with colleges and universities that value GLBTA people. The fair features campuses that have demonstrated this commitment by participating in the Campus Pride LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index.

What can I learn from attending?

At this event, participants can:

Interact with LGBT and ally college representatives
Discuss academic course offerings
Learn about valuable LGBT scholarship resources
Get LGBT tips of what to look for on your campus visit
Ask all the questions you want about LGBT college life

There will also be free Chipotle burritos! Special thanks to Chipotle for their generous donation!

Will there be workshops?

There will be several skill building workshops focused on writing your personal statement, finding financial aid, and developing time management skills. There will also be a Special Feature Presentation, "Finding Your LGBT-Friendly Campus" by Shane L. Windmeyer, the Executive Director of Campus Pride and author of The Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students.
