Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) individuals exist on every college and university campus, in every workplace setting, and in every organization. These students, coworkers, and community members deserve to study, work, and live in respectful and safe environments where they can be their whole selves.
Becoming an ally to the GLBT community is more than just knowing someone who is GLBT—this training program builds the knowledge and skills necessary to act effectively as an ally and to interrupt biphobia, homophobia, and transphobia. MN Campus Alliance trainings create opportunities for open and honest discussion on issues of gender and sexuality.
All trainings are typically 1-4 hours, include facilitated dialogues, and can be customized to accomodate the needs of your organization.
Ally Training is designed to educate participants about how to be an ally to members of the GLBT community and how to interrupt systems of biphobia, homophobia, and transphobia. It includes basic information about the GLBT community and walks participants through common misconceptions and stereotypes about GLBT individuals.
(Trans)Gender 101 is a training and facilitated dialogue designed to educate participants about systems of gender and transgender experiences. This training is presented in partnership with the University of Minnesota Transgender Commission.
