Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) individuals exist on every college and university campus, in every workplace setting, and in every organization. These students, coworkers, and community members deserve to study, work, and live in respectful and safe environments where they can be their whole selves.
Becoming an ally to the GLBT community is more than just knowing someone who is GLBT—this training program builds the knowledge and skills necessary to act effectively as an ally. MN Campus Alliance trainings create opportunities for open and honest discussion on issues of gender and sexuality.
Ally Training is a three-hour training designed to educate participants about how to be an ally to members of the GLBT community. It includes basic information about the GLBT community and walks participants through common misconceptions and stereotypes about GLBT individuals.
Train the Trainer is a four-hour training designed to help individuals gain the knowledge and skills necessary to present their own Ally Training and build a sustained GLBT training program within their institution.
(Trans)Gender 101 is a two- to three-hour training and facilitated dialogue designed to educate participants about systems of gender and transgender experiences. This training is presented in partnership with the University of Minnesota Transgender Commission.
